COUNT ME IN 2025

Garland

The “Count Me In” training for our Mission Partners was hosted at Gateway Church in Durban, was more than just a kick-off event—it served as a catalytic experience that ignited passion and purpose for the mission ahead. With a focus on equipping mission partners for the year, the training covered critical topics to prepare participants for the work ahead, all while reinforcing the heart behind SU’s ministry.

A key theme throughout the sessions was Vision 2030, where mission partners were inspired by the goal of reaching 1 million young people by 2030. The training unpacked Scripture Union’s Mission Framework, providing a clear path for how mission partners can actively contribute to achieving this ambitious vision. This framework emphasized building relational bridges with young people, introducing them to the Gospel, and creating spaces for faith exploration and spiritual growth.

School Etiquette emerged as a vital topic, underscoring the importance of respect and professionalism in school environments. Mission partners were guided through practical insights on how to build relationships with school staff and students while representing Scripture Union with integrity.

Another integral component was SU’s relationship with the church, highlighting the importance of collaboration with local congregations. The training reinforced the belief that strong partnerships with churches can extend the impact of SU’s ministry, creating lasting, faith-based communities for young people to grow in.

Additionally, personal growth was not neglected. Sessions on personal wholeness reminded mission partners of the importance of self-care and emotional well-being, recognizing that sustainable ministry flows from a place of personal walk with Jesus.

Throughout the training, team building activities were incorporated to foster unity and trust among mission partners. Whether through games, group exercises, or strategic discussions, these activities promoted a sense of community and cooperation. The emphasis on group dynamics and conflict resolution ensured that mission partners were equipped with the skills necessary to navigate challenges effectively and maintain harmony within their teams.

The “Count Me In” training was a launchpad for the year’s mission, leaving every participant feeling equipped, motivated, and ready to make a lasting impact in the lives of young people. With a deeper understanding of SU’s mission, strengthened relationships with fellow mission partners, and practical tools in hand, they are ready to step out into schools, communities, and churches, confident in their role to bring hope, truth, and transformation to the next generation.
